Blog
Leadership is never static—it’s alive, shifting, moving, and evolving. To lead with impact means to embrace constant growth, to engage with new ideas, and to connect with diverse audiences in ways that inspire change.
Over the past several months, I’ve found myself immersed in a wide range of projects: launching my first solo book, speaking to audiences from local chambers of commerce to national conferences, curating music playlists designed to inspire leadership, strengthening businesses through systems and structure, and writing health-focused columns for my community. Each project looks different on the surface, but they are all tied together by a shared purpose: to exponentially elevate leadership impact.
This season of my journey is a reminder that leadership is about momentum—and momentum is created through consistent, intentional action. Let me take you inside some of the ways this momentum is being built.
📖 A Book That Lives in the Hands of Leaders
One of the most meaningful milestones in my career has been the release of my solo book, Exponentially Elevate Your Leadership Impact: A Yearlong Journey to Reflect, Strengthen, and Elevate Your Leadership (An Interactive Journal Experience).
The book was born out of a deep desire to walk alongside women in educational leadership who often face self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and the weight of environments that don’t always nurture their growth. Too many capable, passionate women have been made to feel like leadership isn’t for them, or that they must earn a seat at the table by sacrificing their authenticity.
I wrote this book to say: you belong, exactly as you are.
The structure of the book is intentional. Rather than a single narrative read in a weekend, it’s a 52-week guided journey. Each week offers a motivational quote, a positive affirmation, a journaling prompt, and a mini-lesson. The design invites leaders to pause, reflect, and act—turning leadership from theory into practice.
But what excites me most isn’t the book itself—it’s the conversations it sparks. Leaders across the country are telling me how they’ve incorporated the weekly lessons into their team meetings, mentorship programs, and personal growth routines. Some say it feels like having a mentor by their side every week of the year. That was exactly my goal: to provide an accessible, practical, and personal resource that helps leaders grow steadily and authentically.
🎤 Engaging with Audiences Across the State and Nation
While the book represents my heart on paper, speaking allows me to bring that message alive in real time. One of the greatest joys of my work is the opportunity to engage with diverse audiences—from national organizations to local community groups, and everywhere in between.
Each audience is unique. A room full of higher education researchers wants to know how leadership principles can support institutional excellence. A chamber of commerce luncheon gathers business owners who want to grow stronger communities. Faculty groups across community colleges are eager to explore how leadership applies to teaching, mentorship, and student success.
The settings may change, but the core themes remain the same:
Leadership is about people first.
Purpose fuels progress.
Growth requires action.
My speaking philosophy is simple: don’t just present, engage. I weave reflection prompts, pair-share activities, stories, and even music into my keynotes so participants aren’t just passive listeners—they’re active participants. My goal is that every person walks away with not just inspiration but one tangible action they can apply the very next day.
Whether I’m speaking in a large auditorium or in a small community gathering, the mission is the same: to empower leaders to step into their authentic confidence and elevate their impact.
🎶 The Power of Music: The Do Good Leadership Collection
Leadership isn’t only about strategies, frameworks, or books. It’s also about energy—what we carry with us day to day, and how we reset and refuel when challenges weigh heavy. That’s why I launched The Do Good Leadership Music Collection on Spotify, a creative project that marries inspiration with rhythm.
The collection includes five themed playlists:
Ignite & Inspire – A spark for vision and bold beginnings.
Grace & Grit – An anthem for resilience when the road gets tough.
Bold & Brilliant – Confidence boosters for stepping forward with clarity.
Authentic & Aligned – Music to center and ground you in who you are.
Reset & Refuel – A restorative mix for rest and renewal.
What makes these playlists unique is that they’re not just background music. Each one is paired with reflection prompts that encourage leaders to connect the songs to their mindset. A commute becomes a chance to realign with purpose. A workout doubles as a leadership reset. A quiet evening turns into a moment of reflection.
Leaders who have begun using the playlists tell me that they’ve become more than just a soundtrack—they’re a tool for intentional leadership growth.
❤️ Building Healthy Communities
Leadership shows up in many spaces, not just in classrooms or boardrooms. It also shows up in how we care for the health and well-being of our communities.
With a background in sports medicine, I’ve been contributing monthly health and wellness articles for Wesson News. These pieces address everything from heart health to arthritis awareness to CPR training—always with the goal of equipping readers with knowledge they can use to live healthier, stronger lives.
One area particularly close to my heart is CPR education. Through DoGoodProHealth, we’ve been expanding opportunities for both healthcare providers and community members to gain life-saving skills. For healthcare workers, Basic Life Support training emphasizes teamwork and advanced CPR. For the community, HeartSaver classes prepare everyday people to step forward in emergencies with confidence.
This isn’t just training—it’s leadership in action. The willingness to prepare yourself for critical moments is a form of service. It means you’re ready to step up when others can’t. That’s the essence of leadership: seeing a need, taking responsibility, and making a difference.
🏗️ Strengthening Systems Behind the Scenes
Not all leadership is visible. Some of the most important work happens behind the scenes, in the structures and systems that make organizations sustainable.
At Grace Foam Solutions and Grace Insulation, we’ve been intentional about developing Standard Operating Procedures, refining payroll and inventory systems, and creating transparency in how materials and finances are managed. Every piece of foam, every set of gloves, every delivery—everything must be accounted for and tracked.
This kind of work doesn’t often make headlines, but it’s critical. Without strong foundations, organizations crumble under pressure. With clear systems and accountability, they thrive.
For me, this work is about stewardship. Leadership is not only about inspiring others in the moment—it’s also about building something strong enough to last.
✨ The Common Thread: Momentum
When I step back and look at all these projects—the book, the speaking engagements, the playlists, the health initiatives, and the business systems—the word that ties them all together is momentum.
Momentum is created by clarity of purpose. It grows through small, consistent steps taken over time. It requires courage to move forward even when the path isn’t easy.
This season of my life has reminded me that leadership is not about staying comfortable—it’s about continually shifting, moving, and growing. It’s about engaging with different audiences, adapting to new challenges, and showing up with authenticity in every setting.
And here’s the beautiful truth: this isn’t just about me. It’s about us. Every person has the ability to create momentum in their own life and leadership. Whether through reading a book, attending a workshop, listening to a playlist, or even learning CPR, we each have opportunities to grow and serve.
So let me leave you with a question for reflection:
👉 Where in your life are you ready to create momentum?
Because when you take one intentional step forward, you set into motion a ripple effect of growth and transformation—not just for yourself, but for everyone around you.
